Farm School
Flanders offers a fun program for young children with a caregiver where kids can be “a farmer for the day” visiting and helping feed the animals who make their home at the Flanders North Barn. Continuing one Friday each month the focus will be on a different farm animal. In September theme is “Baa, Ram, Ewe” when they will be learning all about sheep! Kids and their caregivers will meet the Flanders Shetland sheep and feel their beautiful, soft wool used for knitting and felting. They will see a yarn-spinning demonstration and learn how a shepherd takes care of these incredible wooly wonders. They will then enjoy a hands on experience using some wool for an art project to take home.
