The art of Natalie Van Vleck, will be presented in an exhibit, “Natalie Van Vleck: True to Her Art, Life & Land,” at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT through February 24.
A newly published catalog on Natalie and her art is available to purchase.
This first museum exhibit of her work will include over 50 works of art, including a number of her most important paintings, which are on loan from private collectors.
Natalie’s artwork holds a special significance for area residents as many of her subjects are drawn from her early years of living in Woodbury, as a farmer, a keen observer of nature, and as one who appreciated the rolling agrarian landscape of Woodbury. Local subjects include woodland flora and fauna, her prize-winning sheep, and the red barns, white houses and churches of Woodbury, which still exist today.
